Take to the Skies Over Beautiful Northumberland

Looking for an unforgettable gift, a new experience, or simply the chance to see Northumberland from a completely different perspective?

Our 30-minute Athey’s Moor Flying Experience is the perfect introduction to flying.

From our airfield in the heart of rural Northumberland, you’ll take to the skies in one of our modern microlight aircraft and enjoy incredible views across the surrounding countryside.

Your 30-Minute Flying Experience

Your experience includes 30 minutes in the aircraft, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the excitement of take-off, experience flying over the beautiful Northumberland countryside and take in views around Longframlington and the surrounding area.

Weather and conditions permitting, your pilot may also give you the opportunity to take the controls yourself and experience what it feels like to fly an aircraft.

Whether you’re a little nervous, completely new to flying or already have an interest in aviation, our friendly pilots will make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the experience.

A View You’ll Never Forget

Athey’s Moor Airfield is perfectly located in the Northumberland countryside, giving you fantastic views almost immediately after take-off.

From the air, familiar roads, villages, farmland and rolling countryside look completely different, making even our shortest experience something very special.

Don’t forget your camera or phone — our aircraft provide fantastic views for photographs and videos throughout the flight.

Want to Explore Further?

If you’d like to see more of Northumberland, we also offer longer experiences:

30 Minutes – A perfect introduction to flying, exploring the local countryside around Athey’s Moor and Longframlington.
60 Minutes – Our most popular coastal experience, typically heading towards Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh, with views towards Lindisfarne and Holy Island when conditions allow.
90 Minutes – More time to explore the Northumberland coast, Cheviots, Coquet Valley or other routes depending on the weather.
120 Minutes – A longer North East adventure combining spectacular coastline and inland Northumberland.
180 Minutes – Our ultimate flying adventure, allowing significantly more cross-country flying and the possibility of exploring destinations further afield.

All routes are dependent on weather, visibility, airspace and flying conditions on the day. Your pilot will always choose the safest and most enjoyable route available.
